About The Position

BigBear.ai is seeking a Full Stack Developer to support mission-focused product development that advances enterprise data and analytics capabilities for national security customers. The role contributes production-ready code across backend services and frontend user experiences while partnering with a cross-functional product team in an Agile/DevOps environment. The developer participates in end-to-end feature delivery, including design, implementation, testing, code reviews, deployment support, and technical demonstrations, helping ensure the platform remains reliable, scalable, and ready for real-world operations. Applicants must reside in the United States at the time of application and have an active TS/SCI clearance. The role includes Tier 3 support for deployed applications and databases, and may require off-hours deployments in the evenings or on weekends to meet mission timelines and operational requirements.

Requirements

At least 4 years of relevant software development experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Hands-on experience with Python.
Hands-on experience with REST API development, such as FastAPI or similar frameworks.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud environments.
Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization.
Hands-on experience with Git-based version control such as GitHub or GitLab.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
Experience with Agile development methodology, such as Scrum or Kanban.
Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, delivery-oriented product team and produce high-quality, maintainable code.
Must reside in the United States at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

Apache NiFi experience (strong plus).
Experience with Amazon RDS.
Kubernetes experience, particularly Amazon EKS.
Familiarity with architecture and design patterns for scalable systems and microservices.
Experience integrating identity and access management solutions such as Keycloak.
Experience designing or working with OpenAI API-compatible API patterns.
Exposure to LLM-assisted development workflows, using AI tools to improve productivity while maintaining code quality and security.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain full-stack capabilities across user interfaces, backend microservices, and web services for mission-critical outcomes.
Build and enhance APIs and service integrations, including REST-based services using frameworks such as FastAPI.
Automate manual analytical workflows and enable repeatable, scalable processing pipelines.
Contribute to AWS cloud-native solutions, including deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
Develop and integrate persistent data solutions using databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Support enterprise data flow and orchestration solutions such as Apache NiFi.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, technical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Provide Tier 3 technical support for deployed applications and databases, diagnosing and resolving complex production issues.
Collaborate on release planning, deployment procedures, and documentation using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Support off-hours deployments as needed, including evenings and weekends.
Participate in team demonstrations and stakeholder presentations showcasing platform capabilities and progress.
