Full Stack Developer

Hillpointe•Winter Park, FL

About The Position

Hillpointe is hiring a Full Stack Developer to build HPOS, a property management platform for its vertically integrated multifamily real estate business. This is a greenfield, zero-to-one engineering role involving architecture, data-model design, initial services, and engineering patterns that will shape the platform. The developer will work across the full stack, from database schema and API contracts to frontend components and infrastructure, building a multi-tenant platform for operator tooling, leasing, accounting, and capital markets. The team uses trunk-based development, short-lived branches, feature flags, and a daily cadence of working software in staging. The role includes developing React applications for operators and residents; building TypeScript services and shared libraries; designing a multi-tenant PostgreSQL data model; integrating operational data with the Enzo medallion warehouse; implementing asynchronous workflows; and creating Azure infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and observability practices. The technology environment includes React, TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS or Express, PostgreSQL, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Bicep, Terraform, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of production experience building web applications, including taking a system from greenfield to production or rebuilding its foundations.
  • Deep TypeScript knowledge, including generics, conditional types, discriminated unions, and branded types.
  • Expertise in React hooks, render optimization, error boundaries, and Suspense; ability to diagnose excessive re-rendering and write useful custom hooks.
  • Production Node.js experience, including event-loop awareness, streaming and backpressure, memory profiling, graceful shutdown, and structured logging.
  • Experience with relational data modeling, schema design, normalization tradeoffs, indexing, partitioning, and query-plan analysis.
  • Experience designing APIs using REST conventions, idempotency, versioning, pagination, OpenAPI, and authentication patterns such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and sessions.
  • Production experience with Azure App Service, Functions, identity, networking, and observability, or equivalent experience with AWS or GCP.
  • CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code experience, including pipeline-as-code, environment promotion, automated test gates, and infrastructure managed as reviewed artifacts.

Nice To Haves

  • Production experience with PostgreSQL extensions such as pg_stat_statements, pgvector, pgcrypto, PostGIS, or logical replication.
  • Production-scale lakehouse and BI experience, including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Premium with DAX, Python, and PySpark.
  • Experience applying event sourcing, CQRS, sagas, or domain-driven design in a real codebase.
  • Experience with LLM-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, or shipping retrieval-augmented internal tooling to other engineers.
  • Experience in real estate, property management, financial services, or another regulated industry.
  • Rust development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build first-generation operator- and resident-facing applications using React and TypeScript, composing components with the PDS Foundation design system.
  • Develop TypeScript services using Node.js with NestJS or Express, including shared OpenAPI contracts, authentication and authorization, structured audit logs, and request-scoped tracing.
  • Design a multi-tenant PostgreSQL schema, including tenant isolation, normalization and indexing strategies, and audit trails; manage migrations through Prisma or Knex.
  • Set up change data capture from PostgreSQL into the Bronze layer of the Enzo warehouse and establish product read models from Gold-layer views in coordination with the data team.
  • Build asynchronous workflows using Azure Service Bus, including idempotent consumers and dead-letter handling.
  • Create Azure infrastructure modules and multi-stage CI/CD pipelines, and establish structured logging, OpenTelemetry, and service-level objectives before production traffic.
