About The Position
The Brentwood YMCA is Now Hiring for Full Circle Specialized Program Assistant. The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is seeking a Full Circle Specialized Program Assistant for our Full Circle Program. This role involves leading high-quality, engaging classes that foster technical skills, character development, and fun for individuals with intellectual and developmental disorders.
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 18
- College degree or life experience in relevant fields (e.g., therapy, education)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in your specialty area
- Enthusiasm for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disorders
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- New Hire Orientation before your first shift
- CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days of hire
- Relias training within 14 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Teach skills and activities related to your area of expertise, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or special education
- Lead dynamic, safe, and educational classes tailored to participants’ needs
- Build meaningful relationships with participants, encouraging interaction and growth
- Address behavioral or sensory challenges calmly and effectively
- Work closely with parents, participants, and team members to deliver an outstanding program experience
