About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Fueler Service Technician in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role involves fueling, washing, and detailing vehicles; inspecting incoming units; tracking fuel and DEF inventories; moving heavy-duty vehicles; and performing minor maintenance and facility upkeep. This is a safety-sensitive, DOT-regulated position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with weekends off. Pay is $26.10 per hour, and the posting offers a $500 sign-on bonus. The position requires strong communication, customer service, computer, organizational, and follow-up skills. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain a CDL within six months of hire. Applicants must pass Ryder and DOT screening requirements, including a drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background and motor vehicle checks. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Two or more years of related work experience preferred.
Proficiency in written and verbal English communication.
Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to understand customers' verbal communication.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Understanding of computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email; ability to read and understand computer codes and instructions; basic computer skills and data-entry ability.
High degree of thoroughness and dependability.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work at different locations.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.

Must pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Some assignments may require additional employment or education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Fuel, wash, and detail vehicles.
Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units as required by company policies and procedures; check tire pressure and oil, and report service issues to the shop.
Record fuel activity and maintain proper fuel and DEF inventories and reconciliation.
Move heavy-duty vehicles.
Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as tire repairs, initially under close supervision.
Maintain the fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and policies; perform assigned facility maintenance and minor maintenance tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
