About The Position

This course examines the history, theory, and practice of ecocinema not only as a category of fiction and non-fiction filmmaking, but also as a cinematic style designed to inspire social and political change. Through the study of environmental films, semiotic filmmaking techniques, and influential theorists such as Scott MacDonald, Felix Guattari, and Gilles Deleuze, students will explore how ecocinema shapes audience perception, emotional engagement, and environmental action.
