As a primary contact for Safeway customers, the Frozen Food Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This role involves training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to Frozen Food Clerks. The manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area, minimizing out-of-stock products, and writing frozen food orders. Key duties include changing signs and prices, checking orders for completeness, rotating product, removing expired stock daily, keeping frozen food cases stocked, cleaning the department area, and restocking items in the freezer for other departments. The role also includes receiving and stocking products from trucks, breaking down cardboard boxes, maintaining the ice machine, restocking end displays, and cleaning spills. In case of freezer malfunctions or power outages, the employee is responsible for removing, cleaning, and restocking product. The Frozen Food Manager may also function as a cashier/checker during peak times.
