About The Position

The Frozen Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the frozen foods department, ensuring high standards of product quality, inventory accuracy, merchandising, and customer service. This role leads department associates, manages ordering and shrink, and drives operational excellence to meet sales and profitability goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Knowledge of inventory management, food safety, and merchandising standards
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cold‑environment setting
  • Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Previous frozen, grocery, or retail department management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily frozen department operations including ordering, stocking, rotation, and merchandising
  • Ensure proper temperature control, product integrity, and adherence to cold‑chain standards
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, backstock organization, and effective shrink control
  • Ensure freezer, cases, and backroom areas are clean, organized, and compliant
  • Execute planograms, ads, promotions, and seasonal resets
  • Ensure frozen cases are full, faced, and visually appealing
  • Analyze sales trends and adjust ordering to meet customer demand
  • Support company programs and initiatives to drive frozen category sales
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop frozen department associates
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure efficient labor utilization
  • Provide performance feedback, recognition, and corrective coaching as needed
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety
  • Enforce food safety practices including temperature logs and equipment monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and health regulations
  • Support audits, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Train associates on equipment use and safe work practices
  • Manage department labor to align with sales volume and workload
  • Communicate department priorities, performance, and challenges to store leadership
  • Maintain required documentation and operational records
