About The Position

Performs all frozen food responsibilities while working with and reporting to the Grocery Manager. This role involves supervising and training personnel, maintaining the quality and condition of frozen grocery products, stocking, rotating, and facing products, discarding outdated and spoiled items, and managing the backroom. The position also assists in ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays. A key aspect of the role is fostering a positive customer experience through enthusiastic, safe, friendly, and courteous service, utilizing suggestive selling and other sales techniques. The supervisor will also assist the Grocery Manager in planning merchandise requirements and special sales needs, and will train staff on stocking and conditioning standards.

  • Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks, six-wheel carts, and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
  • May need to climb ladders.
  • Mental alertness required for safe, accurate completion of work activities and to do repetitious work accurately.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Ability to learn inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Ability to judge and react to business activity.
  • Compliance with all Company policies including attendance, grooming standards, and dress codes.

  • Encouraging and maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on safe, friendly, and courteous service.
  • Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
  • Assisting the Grocery Manager in planning and organizing merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
  • Training, teaching, and coaching on stocking and conditioning standards.
  • Assisting with dry grocery order writing.
  • Assisting with grocery stocking and conditioning.
  • Working on new items.
  • Assisting with the reclamation process.
  • Assisting with grocery department merchandising.
