About The Position

The Frozen Food/Dept Leader helps create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintains a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. The role assists the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and monitors established quality assurance standards. The leader supports the Customer 1st strategy and encourages associates to provide excellent customer service while demonstrating the company's values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

• Must be 18 or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.

• Ability to speak, read, and/or write in a second language.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates and maintain a positive attitude.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products in the department and store.
• Maintain knowledge of department products and respond to questions or make product suggestions.
• Inform customers about frozen food specials and recommend items to meet their needs.
• Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
• Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance needs and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks or issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
