About The Position

The Frozen Food/Dept Leader creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintains a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. The role assists the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and monitors established quality assurance standards. Requirements

Must be 18 or older.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Effective communication skills.
Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.

Nice To Haves

Retail experience.
Ability to speak, read, and/or write in a second language.

Responsibilities

Promote trust and respect among associates and maintain a positive attitude.
Create a welcoming environment by answering customers' questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
Maintain knowledge of department products, answer questions, and suggest products.
Inform customers about frozen food specials.
Recommend frozen food items to help customers find the products they want and need.
Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager about items needing repair.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Report safety risks or issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
