About The Position

This role involves overseeing airport operations to ensure efficient service for customers and employees. The supervisor will be responsible for planning and communicating gate changes, managing crew connections, forecasting and reacting to operational issues, and monitoring international arrivals and departures. The position also includes mentoring and training new employees, potentially participating in interviewing and hiring, and addressing employee performance and policy violations. Effective communication with other departments and internal customers is crucial, as is the ability to direct others clearly. The supervisor will also complete shift reports, assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary reports, and support the baggage handling area. Conducting shift briefings and organizing operational information are also key duties.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess and maintain a valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum six months experience as an Operations Agent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
  • Competent in handling difficult situations
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to build relationships

Responsibilities

  • Understanding of the facility to best service the customer and employees, regarding constraints that the airport may cause
  • Effectively plan and communicate gate changes in advance of conflicts, to ensure fuel savings
  • Examine crew connections, plan for down line weather delays, monitor compression and plan accordingly
  • Quick to forecast/react to problems that may arise, causing the parking plan to change
  • Monitors international arrivals and departures
  • Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
  • Some responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy
  • Effective communication with other departments and internal customers
  • Must be able to direct others and give clear directions
  • Complete shift reports and sign timecards
  • Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
  • Prepare disciplinary incident and or termination reports
  • Assist in the baggage handling area
  • Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
  • Able to organize and disseminate accurate operational information
