All Levels: Frontend Software Engineer

Hadrian Automation•Torrance, CA
•$220,000 - $320,000•Onsite

About The Position

Hadrian is building advanced systems that automate technical data understanding and accelerate precision manufacturing planning and execution. Its platform processes technical data packages, engineering drawings and specifications, and CAD models, converting them into structured data used to generate processes and plan factories. The Frontend Software Engineer will build software to extract, model, and enrich complex engineering data from 2D and 3D sources. The role owns the full-stack application that orchestrates custom machine-learning models, agents, and computational geometry tools; manages data changes; and provides user experiences for reviewing and editing data in 2D and 3D. The focus is frontend development, with an expectation that engineers can contribute across the stack as needed. The position is based out of Hadrian’s Los Angeles (Torrance) or San Francisco Bay Area office.

Requirements

  • Expertise in TypeScript and React, including deep understanding of state management, rendering, and the frontend ecosystem.
  • AI-native approach, strong product sense, and user empathy.
  • Ability and desire to build a high-quality codebase.
  • Bias toward action and pride in one’s work.
  • Enthusiasm for a fast-paced environment with high-stakes work and quick iteration cycles.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations, to comply with ITAR requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building graphics-heavy applications using Canvas, WebGL, three.js, or similar.
  • Strong design sense and ability to execute at a high level with or without design support.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software, 3D environments, or document and PDF rendering.
  • Experience with WebAssembly, web workers, and other techniques for high-performance web applications.
  • Experience building interfaces for LLM agents, including chat, tool calls, and human review of model output.
  • Comfort with working in other areas of the stack, including Node, Python, and SQL.
  • Previous work in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing, or with engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Passion for manufacturing and the belief that the industry needs better software.

Responsibilities

  • Build applications engineers use to read drawings and models, including a high-performance PDF viewer, annotation overlays, and 3D CAD views with PMI.
  • Design review workflows that let people confirm, correct, or reject agent-proposed results, while recording every edit.
  • Build agent-driven interfaces that use the same tools as users and display their answers in drawings.
  • Own performance on large documents and models, including rendering, streaming, caching, and maintaining UI responsiveness with thousands of entities on screen.
  • Participate in product discovery with manufacturing engineers and operators to define what needs to exist and what needs improvement.
  • Work closely with ML engineers on agent outputs and how those outputs reach users.
