Frontend Engineer, Platform

Doppel
$130,000 - $220,000

About The Position

Doppel is seeking a senior frontend engineer to enhance the UI/UX of its core product platform. This role involves collaborating with the lead designer to create a cohesive, performant, and modern user experience that builds confidence with enterprise customers. The work will significantly impact high-value deals and user interactions with the product.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
  • Experience building and operating production web applications.
  • Experience owning platform-level frontend work, such as design systems, component libraries, build tooling, data-layer patterns (Relay or similar GraphQL clients), or frontend infrastructure used by other engineers.
  • Genuine excitement about AI-assisted development and building safe rails for agent-driven development.
  • A platform mindset focused on enabling other teams' success.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and shaping a team's charter.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience communicating with product teams, designers, and backend platform engineers.
  • Product-minded, highly autonomous, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with production monitoring and performance work (RUM, SLOs, error budgets).
  • Experience collaborating deeply with designers, including design tokens, Figma workflows, and Storybook-driven development.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the frontend infrastructure for all products, including the application shell, data layer, routing, auth, and build/deploy pipeline.
  • Evolve the design system from a component library into a contract with constrained, composable primitives, tokens, docs, and guardrails for correct generated code.
  • Build the design-to-production pipeline, including tooling, agent workflows, and review guardrails, to enable designers and product teams to go from design to production without manual frontend coding.
  • Ensure platform safety by default through permissioning, packaging gates, observability, accessibility, and internationalization integrated into primitives.
  • Own the production health of the shared client, including monitors, SLOs, and ownership routing for automatic failure alerts.
  • Package the platform for scale with a versioned component library and scaffolding for new applications and product surfaces.
  • Partner closely with design and product teams, using their velocity as a success metric.

Benefits

  • Free lunch and dinner in the office
  • Flexible PTO
  • Quarterly team offsites
