About The Position

Rappahannock Goodwill Industries is hiring a Front Retail Associate for its Orange location. The associate provides customer service to shoppers and donors, processes payments and donations, prepares and prices merchandise, and helps maintain a clean and attractive store environment. The role may involve cashiering, sales-floor work, basic housekeeping, and cross-training in other store functions. The position is based in a retail store, with minimal exposure to outdoor elements.

Requirements

Must be available to work during operating hours as needed for business operations.
Ability to stand and move around for extended periods.
Ability to climb, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, carry, push, pull, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Basic computer and phone communication skills.
Ability to count change, perform basic math, operate a cash register, and make change.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Retail or similar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly customer service to shoppers and donors.
Receive customer payments, operate the cash register, make change, and follow cash, check, credit card, and tax-deductible receipt procedures.
Pack or wrap customer purchases as needed and promote the “round up” option.
Assist donors and provide tax receipts.
Select and prepare textiles for sale, price new and used merchandise, and make goods available to the public.
Replenish merchandise on store fixtures and help customers find items.
Maintain neat, attractive displays and conduct periodic merchandise inventories as required.
Remove poor-quality, damaged, or aged merchandise from the sales floor and prepare it for return to salvage.
Perform housekeeping on the sales floor, donation center, and production area.
Safeguard company property and equipment, follow safety procedures, and adhere to security rules; report incidents to the Store Manager.
Assist with other store functions and cross-train as needed to help meet work goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
