About The Position

Auburn University Temporary Employment Services (TES) is seeking a Front Office Administrative Assistant for the State Employees Insurance Board (SEIB) Wellness Center Clinic in Montgomery, Alabama. TES is an in-house support center that provides temporary employees to meet the staffing needs of Auburn University for various reasons, including covering absences, assisting with peak workloads, special projects, seasonal work, and emergencies. This role offers an opportunity to showcase professional skills, assist the university, and gain valuable work experience in higher education. AU students are not eligible for TES.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare clinic/office
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Greet and attend to patients in person and over the phone.
  • Professionally assist clinical staff, visitors and patients.
  • Answer telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in answering questions, taking messages, or routing calls to the appropriate area.
  • Monitor voicemail and e-mail.
  • Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with opening and closing the clinic daily.
  • Keep SEIB clinic lobby clean, organized, and ready for business daily.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Maintain paper and electronic records.
  • Perform clerical duties, which may include: typing correspondence, filing and record keeping, maintaining calendars, billing, distributing mail, and ordering supplies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
