About The Position

Accepting work-study and regular pay applicants. This role involves performing various tasks to ensure the smooth flow of a large-scale food services operation within the DUC Food Court. Responsibilities include monitoring and refreshing beverage lines, condiment stations, and salad bars, as well as cleaning and sanitizing dining area surfaces. The position also assists with other support services and special event meals.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week.
  • Ability to lift pans, weighing up to 40#, between production area and carts.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist and lift weighing up to 60# when storing, stocking and gathering prepared products and/or inventory items.
  • Ability to stand and walk on hard floors for extended hours.
  • Must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits).
  • Must be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher).
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Successful applicants must pass all UWSP mandatory trainings along with department specific (food handling) trainings as part of their employment onboarding.
  • Must pass all mandatory trainings (Mandated Reporter and Information Security courses found on the My UW website).

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and refreshing the beverage lines, condiment stations, and salad bar.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing tables and other surfaces within the dining area.
  • Assisting with other support services to ensure the smooth flow of a large-scale food services operation.
  • Restocking products in the service area as needed.
  • Keeping the Front End of the DUC Food Court area clean.
  • Sweeping and mopping when necessary.
  • Emptying trash and recycling bins as needed.
  • Cleaning and breaking down equipment, wiping down surfaces, cabinets, and tray bar lines at end of shift.
  • Responding to customer inquiries or problems in a courteous manner.
  • Assisting with special event meals.
  • Attending mandatory staff meetings.
  • Completing University Dining Orientation Canvas course and all Mandatory Trainings before the employee’s first shift.
  • Abiding by the policies outlined in the University Dining Student Employment Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management Team.
