The Lead Medical Receptionist will assist the department with coordination of the daily operations of the front desk, and other duties to ensure efficient work flow and patient care. This role supports the Ambulatory Office Manager in handling routine administrative duties, overseeing office operations and clerical staff, and supervising front desk staff. The position also serves as a liaison for the department with third-party payers, federal and state agencies, referring physicians' offices, and patients. Responsibilities include performing all necessary receptionist duties, utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, facilitating patient flow, scheduling appointments, obtaining referrals and authorizations, and ensuring HIPAA guidelines are followed. The role may also require providing coverage for night hours and weekends as needed, updating client information, and maintaining a clean reception area.
