About The Position

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Front Desk Clerk is the front-line representative of the organization. He/ She is responsible for making sure that clients, visitors, and staff feel welcome at El Cemi Housing Development. He/ she also works with the Social Service office to ensure a smooth flow of clients through the organization.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED minimum, AA degree preferred.
  • Bi-lingual is a plus.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion.
  • Must be able to multi- task with strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to cultural diversity and sensitivity.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure and operate with a keen sense of urgency and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Greets tenants/ clients and answers questions about general services provided.
  • Serves as a general presence and visible deterrent to disorderly infractions.
  • Announces visitors/ tenants/ outside vendors.
  • Operates back- up phones and directs calls to the appropriate staff.
  • Answers phone line and responds to inquiries from tenants/ clients/ service providers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Takes and relays messages in a timely manner to the appropriate source.
  • Maintains visitor log.
  • Conducts and logs building rounds for safety and compliance issues.
  • Provides clerical support as needed.
  • Responds to and reports all incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies to proper authorities.
  • Provides informal monitoring of tenants.
  • Ensures front desk area is tidy at all times.
