This is a temporary (fixed term) position. The front desk hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays. Student staff should be prepared to arrive at the Honors College and open at 8 a.m. or close at 8 p.m., based on availability. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Educational equivalency of a High School Diploma
  • Being organized
  • Good time management skills
  • Computer skills preferred for Word, Excel, ability to make name tags, ability to use Outlook schedule
  • Good telephone skills, answering questions, knowing how to transfer, take messages and retrieve voice mail
  • Student staff should be informed of other Honors Colleges' requirements and their Deans
  • Willingness to be a contributor and take initiative
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Greeting prospective students, families, and guests
  • Answering the front desk phone
  • General tasks associated with the Honors College front desk
  • Occasionally work events
