About The Position

The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for guests at The Lofton Hotel, providing warm welcomes, efficient check-ins, and seamless departures. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, handling guest requests and concerns, and supporting hotel operations with administrative duties. The Lofton is an upscale, 251-room hotel in downtown Minneapolis and is part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a guest or customer service position; hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to work under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• Prior guest or customer service experience in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest experiences from check-in to checkout.
• Handle reservations, inquiries, and complaints using hotel systems.
• Resolve guest issues effectively while maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure.
• Build guest relationships through personalized service and local knowledge.
• Communicate with guests in person and by phone.
• Manage financial transactions and cash handling responsibilities accurately.
• Multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform administrative duties that contribute to overall hotel operations.
