About The Position

The Fresh Cut Clerk supports the fresh cut produce department by preparing, stocking, and replenishing fresh-cut fruit and vegetable products so guests can rely on the department for everyday needs and special occasions. The role also involves providing helpful guest service, keeping work and sales areas clean and sanitary, and meeting product quality and food-safety standards. This is a part-time position in Portage, Wisconsin, reporting to the Produce Department Manager/Fresh Cut Manager. The position may be part-time or full-time, but this posting identifies it as part-time.

Requirements

• Communicate effectively with guests, leaders, and retail sales associates using strong written and verbal skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Understand safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and box-cutter safety.
• Be able to use power jacks, walk-behind lifts, WAVs, balers, and compactors.
• Stand in place for long periods and walk in the store and cooler.
• Bend, stoop, and kneel regularly; have full upper-body range of motion to lift products; and perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
• Have the functional sensory abilities needed to visually monitor the store, create displays, and operate equipment.
• Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
• Attend work regularly and on time in accordance with the work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate fresh-cut department stock levels by monitoring sales-floor and cooler conditions, producing products, and stocking and replenishing as needed.
• Provide outstanding service by helping guests find products and taking initiative to address concerns and resolve service or product issues.
• Organize and sanitize work areas, shelving, and sales floors as needed.
• Meet quality standards, maintain accurate food-safety logs, and meet quantity expectations by 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• Maintain regular, timely attendance and provide adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
