About The Position

As a Freight Specialist, you will provide support to the Traffic Department in coordination with outside resources to improve profitability and service to our customers.

Requirements

High School diploma, General Equivalency Degree, or relevant work experience
Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with both internal and external customers
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Responsibilities

Communicate via email, company-specific portals, and telephone.
Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to invoice custom haul activities completed by the DTI Fleet.
Collect bills of lading, lumper receipts, rate sheets, and other required documentation.
Enter, update, and validate accurate data within operating systems.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Maintain contact with contracted brokers.
Work on various assigned projects to help monitor costs and improve service.
Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.
Maintain timely and professional communication with customer contacts regarding issues that impact service and overall performance.
