About The Position

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Freight Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing new business, building relationships with shippers and customers, generating freight opportunities, and helping grow the company's customer base. This position is ideal for someone who is confident communicating with customers, enjoys sales and relationship building, and understands or is willing to learn the transportation and logistics industry.

Requirements

Previous experience in freight sales, transportation, logistics, trucking, brokerage, or B2B sales is preferred.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Comfortable making outbound sales calls and communicating with potential customers.
Ability to build and maintain professional business relationships.
Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Basic computer skills and ability to work with email, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and transportation software.
Ability to work independently as well as with dispatch and operations teams.

Responsibilities

Identify and contact potential shippers, manufacturers, distributors, and other businesses that require freight transportation services.
Generate new leads through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and referrals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Understand customers' freight requirements, shipping lanes, volume, equipment needs, and pricing expectations.
Negotiate freight rates and work toward securing profitable transportation agreements.
Follow up consistently with prospective customers to convert leads into active accounts.
Coordinate with dispatch and operations teams to ensure customer freight requirements can be successfully handled.
Maintain accurate records of customer contacts, leads, quotes, and sales activity.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain communication with customers throughout the sales process.
Develop long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities to increase freight volume.
Meet individual and company sales goals.
