About The Position

Steel & O'Brien manufactures stainless steel products for food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, and industrial processing facilities across North America. The Freight Handler supports shipping and receiving operations, helping ensure products are prepared accurately, safely, and on time. The role involves preparing and staging shipments, handling incoming and outgoing freight, organizing inventory, and coordinating with other teams to meet deadlines. Forklift and material-handling equipment training is available. The position is in a clean, modern manufacturing environment and requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift, including safely lifting up to 50 pounds. The listed pay rate is $18.50–$19.00 per hour, and a sign-on bonus is offered.

Responsibilities

Prepare, package, and stage products for shipment.
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment; training is available.
Organize inventory and maintain warehouse cleanliness.
Work with production, purchasing, and customer service teams to meet shipping deadlines.
