About The Position

A Freight Forwarder (entry level) manages the importation and exportation of goods and coordinates the logistics process, including customs clearance, carrier booking, cargo tracking, documentation, delivery or pickup, and communication with customers and third-party service providers. The role coordinates with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to support timely and efficient delivery. The position is based in Huntsville, Alabama, in DSV’s Air & Sea division.

Requirements

• Fluency in English is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of additional languages.
• Experience with logistics software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage imports, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
• Manage exports, including booking carriers and coordinating goods through transportation channels.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to support timely delivery.
• Prepare, process, and submit documentation required for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork.
• Track and monitor shipments and provide customers with regular status updates.
• Manage customer relationships, maintain satisfaction, and address concerns or issues.
• Collaborate with internal logistics, finance, and operations departments to support timely and efficient service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
