About The Position

The Freight Forwarder, Ocean Import role manages ocean import and export shipments and the related logistics process. Responsibilities span customs clearance, carrier bookings, cargo tracking, documentation, delivery or pickup, and communication with customers and third-party service providers. The role coordinates with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to support timely and efficient delivery of goods.

Requirements

• Fluency in English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations.
• Understanding of trade laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field.
• Experience in ocean import and export.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean imports, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
• Manage ocean exports, including carrier booking and movement of goods through transportation channels.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to support timely delivery.
• Prepare, process, and submit customs-clearance documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork.
• Track and monitor shipments and provide customers with regular status updates.
• Manage customer relationships, support customer satisfaction, and address concerns or issues.
• Collaborate with internal logistics, finance, and operations departments to deliver services efficiently and on time.
• Ensure compliance with applicable customs regulations, trade laws, and other relevant requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
