About The Position

Five Below is hiring a Freight Crew associate for an early-morning, part-time seasonal role. The position supports customers and store operations by providing prompt, helpful service, sharing product knowledge, promoting events and offers, and communicating customer and merchandise needs to management. Associates work with a team to support store goals and maintain a positive shopping experience.

The role requires availability as early as 4:00 AM and a flexible schedule that may include day, evening, weekend, or overnight shifts, as business needs require. The work involves frequent customer interaction, use of store devices, and moving and stocking merchandise. The listed starting pay is $11.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including as early as 4:00 AM; the schedule may include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices.
• Good communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential concerns courteously and professionally.
• Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Able to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Able to frequently ascend and descend ladders.
• Able to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop.
• Able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
• Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions related to merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Starting pay is $11.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Be available to work as early as 4:00 AM.
• Greet and assist customers promptly, including handling multiple customer interactions efficiently.
• Assess customer needs, share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, and offer recommendations.
• Engage in suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer concerns and offer alternative solutions, with the aim of turning returns into exchanges when possible.
• Inform management about restocking and service needs and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the team to support store and company goals and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Operate cash registers, computers, hand-held devices, phones, walkies, and mobile devices.
• Move and stock merchandise, including retrieving and putting away items in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Follow merchandise-layout instructions, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
