About The Position

The Freezer/Cooler/Deli associate supports Sam’s Club fresh-food operations by keeping products available and properly cared for, maintaining sanitary freezer, cooler, and deli areas, and providing member service. The role includes stocking and presenting merchandise, preparing ready-to-sell products in appropriate containers, monitoring food quality and temperature control, and keeping the work area clean and member-ready. Associates also follow food-handling and cold-chain procedures, maintain equipment, and complete required audits and documentation. The position involves assisting members with locating and purchasing merchandise and deli products, addressing concerns, and promoting company products and services. Associates are expected to follow safety standards and company policies, work effectively with others, act with integrity, serve members, and contribute to continuous improvement. The job requires successful completion of required trainings and assessments within a prescribed period.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Ensure high-quality products are properly cared for and available to members.
Keep shelves clean, maintain temperature control, verify expiration dates, and dispose of food products that are no longer suitable.
Pack ready-to-sell products in appropriate containers and stock displays.
Maintain clean, sanitized, and member-ready work areas.
Follow facility safety standards and procedures, conduct safety sweeps, follow forklift-spotting procedures, handle and dispose of hazardous materials properly, follow steel guidelines, and report or correct unsafe situations.
Maintain sales-floor and merchandise presentation in the Freezer/Cooler/Deli area according to company policies, including handling claims and returns, zoning, receiving and stocking merchandise, setting up and cleaning displays, removing damaged goods, signing and pricing merchandise, completing audits and documentation, and securing fragile or high-shrink merchandise.
Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying their needs, locating merchandise, assisting with purchasing decisions, providing deli products, resolving concerns, and promoting company products and services.
Follow food-handling policies and Cold Chain procedures when stocking merchandise.
Operate, repair, and sanitize equipment; clean freezer, cooler, and deli areas; monitor fans, drains, and doors for proper operation; and report issues to management.
Collaborate with and support team members, build trusting relationships, communicate positively, and help develop and mentor others.
Maintain integrity, ethics, and compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement and the company’s stated goal of becoming a regenerative company.
Complete all job-required trainings and assessments within the prescribed time period.
