About The Position

Berlin Bytes is building a pool of experienced freelance creatives who work across digital products and experiences. This is not a full-time role and is not necessarily connected to an immediate project. The agency is building a trusted network of freelance collaborators to contact when relevant opportunities arise. Depending on timing and fit, the relationship may lead to project-based work and potentially longer-term collaboration. The pool is intended for freelancers specializing in one or more of Product Design (UX/UI for web and mobile, with strong product thinking), Visual Design (branding-led digital design, especially for websites and digital experiences), or Design Engineering (designer-first profiles that can also support or implement frontend experiences for web and mobile). Work may include design activities from concept through implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams and developers. Berlin Bytes is a creative software development and consulting agency that works with Kambria, its AI transformation lever, to design, build, and scale digital and AI-driven solutions.

Requirements

Proven freelance or professional experience in at least one relevant area: Product Design, Visual Design, or Design Engineering.
A strong portfolio showcasing relevant digital work.
Experience designing for web; mobile experience is a strong plus depending on specialization.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt to different project contexts.
Strong spoken and written English.
Applicants must provide a portfolio link and a day rate (8 hours) and/or hourly rate; applications without a portfolio and rate cannot be considered.
Freelance availability and time zone should be included when applying.

Responsibilities

Create UX/UI designs for web and mobile products.
Contribute to product thinking, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI.
Create branding-led visual designs for websites, landing pages, and other digital touchpoints.
Translate brand systems into compelling digital experiences.
Prepare implementation-ready design files and collaborate closely with developers.
Support end-to-end delivery from concept to implementation.
Work within or contribute to design systems.
As a Design Engineering freelancer, support or implement frontend experiences for web and mobile, depending on project needs.
