About The Position

Berlin Bytes is building a freelance pool of Product Designers to contribute to web and mobile digital products and services. The role helps define problem spaces, user needs, value propositions, and product opportunities; contributes to discovery, user flows, product strategy, prototypes, and final UI; and supports feature definition and prioritisation with a product mindset. Designers collaborate with stakeholders, product teams, and developers to create clear, implementation-ready designs and handoff materials, and work within or contribute to design systems where needed.

The position is freelance and project-based. Applicants should provide a portfolio link, a short introduction with their day rate for an eight-hour day and/or hourly rate, and their availability and time zone. Applications without a portfolio and rate cannot be considered.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Product Designer or Senior UX/UI Designer.
• A strong portfolio showing web and mobile product work.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to product strategy, prioritisation, and feature definition.
• Solid skills in UX, interaction design, UI design, and prototyping.
• Ability to think beyond screens and contribute to product decisions.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Strong spoken and written English.

Nice To Haves

• German language skills.
• Experience in agency, consulting, or client-facing environments.
• Experience with SaaS, enterprise, mobile, or AI-related products.
• Workshop or discovery facilitation experience.
