About The Position

Trailpoint Village provides free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training through the ASC Nurse Aide Training Program. No previous experience is required; participants need a commitment to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes free classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training and takes place over two weeks, with 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of clinical training. The class start date is November 16th. After completing the program and testing, participants can pursue a position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana locations. Talent Acquisition Partners assist with applying for a position. Further nursing-career development pathways are available, including tuition and certification reimbursement, college and university partnerships, paid training, and career development. The CNA work described includes assisting residents with personal care, meals, mobility and transfers; taking and recording vital signs and observations; responding to call lights; and building relationships through care and companionship.

Requirements

No previous experience is required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, oral care, and shaving.
Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
Obtain and record resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and other observations.
Answer patient call lights and assist with resident requests.
Build meaningful relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
