About The Position

The Family Resource Center (FRC) Parent Liaison is a key member of the Family Resource Center team, dedicated to strengthening families by increasing Protective Factors through parenting education, family support services, and community collaboration. Under the direct supervision of the FRC Supervisor, the Parent Liaison supports the daily operations of the Family Resource Center, coordinates parenting activities, and works directly with families to identify strengths, address needs, and connect them to supportive resources. This role also ensures the consistent implementation of the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support while conducting outreach to increase awareness of Family Resource Center services.

Requirements

  • Experience and comfort working with young children birth to 5
  • Knowledge of human service systems and resources
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and have excellent interpersonal skills among a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to understand LSS-SW operations, programs, goals, and initiatives
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain a valid AZ Driver License, acceptable motor vehicle record, and reliable transportation throughout duration of employment
  • Must show proof of freedom from TB before client contact.
  • Maintain Valid Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Must have or be able to obtain a certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Obtain training as required by funder within 180 days of hire.
  • Must clear all required background checks prior to hire and maintain compliance with any periodic checks throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Arts in Early Childhood, Social Services or closely related field preferred. Four years in family support, social services or early childhood and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for an associate degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management and family support services aimed at increasing families’ Protective Factors.
  • Screen and interview potential clients to assess family strengths and needs.
  • Connect families to community-based services related to positive parenting practices, social-emotional well-being, housing stability, food security, and both formal and informal support systems.
  • Follow up on referrals and services to ensure continuity of care and family progress.
  • Facilitate and support parenting activities that increase knowledge of child development, positive parenting strategies, personal well-being, and community resources.
  • Support informal family support systems through group-based activities.
  • Assist with preparation and cleanup for parenting sessions.
  • Interact with parents during activities and provide childcare during adult-only learning sessions as needed.
  • Collect and accurately enter family-level data into the Family Resource Center data system.
  • Document attendance, intake information, referrals, and follow-up activities.
  • Ensure data meets funder and LSS-SW administrative reporting requirements.
  • Plan and implement monthly center-based parenting activities and parent education sessions.
  • Coordinate use of space with community partners for Family Resource Center activities.
  • Assist with material organization, management, and distribution from off-site storage to centers and community locations.
  • Develop and implement a regional outreach plan.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies and stakeholders.
  • Attend community meetings and events to share information about FRC services and recruit new families.
