About The Position

Patreon is seeking an FP&A Senior Manager to support its mission of helping creators build sustainable businesses. The role is part of the Strategic Finance team and works closely with business partner finance leads, Tax, Treasury, Finance Operations, and executives. It owns the financial plan, forecast, and performance narrative used by leadership and the board, as well as company-wide headcount planning and investment decisions. The position leads corporate planning and reporting, including the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, scenario analysis, financial models, and source-of-truth metrics. It also supports leaders in evaluating headcount and other investments, maintaining accurate cost assumptions, and assessing whether investments delivered expected results. The role contributes to G&A and other business-partner work as needed, and is expected to streamline processes and deliver automation used across Finance. The role is based in New York or San Francisco and follows a hybrid model, with three days per week in the office. Success in the first year includes completing a planning cycle, delivering trusted and timely leadership and board reporting, improving headcount visibility and cost assumptions, influencing a hiring decision through analysis, and shipping a Finance automation.

Responsibilities

  • Own monthly and quarterly reporting, including P&L variance analysis, KPIs, commentary, and materials for leadership reviews, board meetings, and investor updates.
  • Lead the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and long-range plan in partnership with GTM, G&A, and EPD finance partners.
  • Build scenario models that clarify trade-offs behind major decisions and flag risks early.
  • Maintain the core financial model and source-of-truth metrics in partnership with Accounting and Data.
  • Streamline planning and reporting processes and automate manual work.
  • Own the company-wide headcount plan and forecast, covering hires, backfills, attrition, and cost.
  • Keep the headcount plan, Workday, and actuals aligned with People and Recruiting, and provide leadership with visibility into hiring against plan.
  • Help leaders evaluate headcount requests and make budget trade-offs, treating each role as an investment and reviewing whether investments delivered.
  • Set, test, and refine headcount cost assumptions, including benefits, payroll taxes, attrition, merit and promotion increases, and hiring timing.
  • Support G&A and other business-partnership work, including budget support and investment and spend reviews.
  • Contribute to Finance automation efforts, including delivering an automation used by the broader Finance team.
