FP&A Manager, Corporate

Nscale•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Nscale is seeking an FP&A Manager to support Corporate FP&A, performance management, and business partnering across its global functions and strategic initiatives. Based in the US, the role works with senior stakeholders across multiple locations and the FP&A leadership team to improve decision-making, financial discipline, planning cycles, and forecast accuracy in a fast-scaling global business. This is a high-ownership role focused on planning, forecasting, performance insight, and business partnering across an evolving portfolio, rather than solely reporting or consolidation. The successful candidate will partner with senior functional leaders, contribute to executive and Board reporting, and lead or support cross-functional priorities such as process and systems improvement, investment cases, post-acquisition integration, and other strategic initiatives. Scope may change over time to reflect business priorities, team structure, and individual strengths.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience, or equivalent experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic finance.
  • Demonstrable experience owning an FP&A, commercial-finance, or business-partnering portfolio.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Hands-on experience with financial systems; NetSuite and Pigment are given as examples.
  • Experience partnering with senior non-finance leaders and challenging spend, headcount, and investment assumptions.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in a high-growth, fast-changing, or complex business environment.
  • Ability to create clarity from incomplete data and dynamic priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Proactive mindset and strong passion for continuous problem-solving.
  • Takes responsibility for driving outcomes and delivering results.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Confident, pragmatic stakeholder partner who builds trust and constructively challenges assumptions.
  • Maintains high output standards while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the budget and rolling forecast for an agreed portfolio of functions, including headcount, non-payroll costs, commitments, and key investment decisions.
  • Develop driver-based financial models and scenarios to support management decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and identify risks, opportunities, and actions early.
  • Serve as the primary finance partner to senior functional leaders, providing commercial insight and constructive challenge.
  • Support decisions about resourcing, supplier commitments, operating expenditure, and investment priorities, articulating trade-offs and financial consequences.
  • Help strengthen financial discipline and accountability, including purchase-order governance, cost ownership, and forecast accuracy.
  • Lead monthly performance reporting for the portfolio, providing concise insight into performance, drivers, forecast movements, decisions required, and forward-looking risks.
  • Support the development of KPIs and performance-tracking frameworks.
  • Support high-priority cross-functional projects, potentially including planning-process design, finance systems and reporting improvements, integration, and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Improve the quality, structure, and usability of FP&A data across relevant systems and reporting tools.
  • Establish scalable, pragmatic processes that reduce manual work while retaining appropriate financial control.
  • Contribute to executive and Board reporting.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive US compensation package comprising base salary, bonus, and equity.
  • Performance reviews every 12 months.
  • Dynamic progression plan tailored to individual ambitions.
  • Opportunities to lead critical cross-functional initiatives and shape capital strategy, with support.
  • Flexible workplace that provides autonomy to shape the workday.
