About The Position

This role is for a Foundry Maintenance Technician A, responsible for maintaining equipment and ensuring minimal downtime. The technician will be expected to excel in various maintenance areas, including electrical, PLC troubleshooting, CNC machine maintenance, mechanical systems, fluid power, structural fabrication, and plumbing. The position requires a strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs and the ability to work independently and safely. The job may also involve RCRA training if hazardous waste management is part of the duties, and requires the ability to work at various heights.

Requirements

  • Must have excelled in all phases of Class "B".
  • Proficient in electrical (construction, AC/DC circuits, electrical meters and instruments, troubleshooting electrical circuits, reading electrical prints and ladder diagrams).
  • Proficient in troubleshooting PLC controllers (making simple changes and edits, writing simple programs using a laptop computer).
  • Proficient in troubleshooting CNC machines (determination and repair of various problems, installation, and setup of ball screws and servomotors).
  • Proficient in mechanical systems (power transmission and gearboxes, bearings, air handling and compressor equipment, material handling equipment, troubleshooting, blueprint, and assembly drawing reading).
  • Proficient in fluid power (system installation, hydraulic and pneumatic print reading, troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits).
  • Proficient in structural fabrication (welding requires certification, cutting, assembly, and installation of equipment with anchoring, leveling, and alignment).
  • Proficient in plumbing (system installations of copper, stainless steel, carbon steel, welded pipe installation requires certification, pump installation and maintenance, valve installation and maintenance, blueprint reading, and system troubleshooting).
  • Must have a two-year Technical School Certificate or Degree.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of maintenance experience.
  • Must be willing to work any shift with limited or no supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Help create and maintain a Preventive Maintenance Program on all equipment to maintain a goal of less than 5% downtime a month.
  • Perform all phases of maintenance in a safe and professional manner.
  • Climb and work at various heights.
  • Potentially undergo annual training in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) if the job involves managing hazardous wastes.
