About The Position

This role is for a Foundry Maintenance Technician B on the 2nd shift. The primary objective is to assist in creating and maintaining a Preventive Maintenance Program for all equipment to achieve a goal of less than 5% monthly downtime. The technician must possess basic knowledge in several areas and be actively developing skills in one or more of them, including Electrical, PLC troubleshooting, CNC machine troubleshooting, Mechanical systems, Fluid Power, Structural maintenance, and Plumbing. The job requires climbing and working at various heights, willingness to work any shift with limited supervision, and working towards advancement to Maintenance Technician A. All maintenance tasks must be performed safely and professionally.

Requirements

  • Over 1 year of experience with a technical school certificate or degree, or over 3 years of experience without a technical certificate or degree.
  • Equivalent to 1 to 3 years of applied trades training.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge in Electrical, PLC troubleshooting, CNC machine troubleshooting, Mechanical systems, Fluid Power, Structural maintenance, and Plumbing.
  • Working on skills to excel in one or more of the listed areas.
  • Working on welding certification.

Responsibilities

  • Help create and maintain a Preventive Maintenance Program on all equipment to maintain a goal of less than 5% downtime a month.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting, including AC/DC circuits, using electrical meters and instruments, and reading electrical prints and ladder diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot PLC controllers, including making simple changes and edits, and writing simple programs using a laptop computer.
  • Troubleshoot CNC machines, including determining problems, and installation and setup of ball screws and servomotors.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, including power transmission, gearboxes, bearings, air handling and compressor equipment, and material handling equipment. Read blueprints and assembly drawings.
  • Perform fluid power system maintenance, including hydraulic and pneumatic print reading, and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Perform structural maintenance, including fabrication, welding, cutting, assembly, and installation of equipment with anchoring, leveling, and alignment.
  • Perform plumbing system maintenance, including installations of copper, stainless steel, carbon steel, welded and threaded installation, pump installation and maintenance, valve installation and maintenance, blueprint reading, and system troubleshooting.
  • Climb and work at various heights.
  • Work any shift sometimes with limited supervision.
  • Work toward advancement to Maintenance Technician A.
  • Perform all phases of maintenance in a safe and professional manner.
