About The Position

As part of the Silicon Engineering group, the Foundry Interface Engineer works with processor design teams to provide technology support and help bring ASIC products from concept through production. The role focuses on enabling PMIC and analog products by collaborating with internal design teams and semiconductor foundries. It is a hands-on, dynamic position that requires travel to foundries and development sites. The engineer manages technical process collaboration with foundries, supports product development, tape-outs, and silicon debug, and works through process and product issues. The role also evaluates foundry deliverables and drives improvements, participates in technology development and device engineering for next-generation PMIC and analog processes, evaluates device usage for product reliability, and manages technology risks across multiple projects. Building internal and external relationships with suppliers and Apple teams is also part of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in semiconductor process technology and manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of CMOS and BCDMOS technologies, particularly for PMIC and analog applications.
  • Experience with advanced BCD PDKs and collateral, such as Spice models, DRM/DRC, LVS, and RC technology files.
  • Experience collaborating positively with power, analog, and digital design teams.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation and pragmatic execution of tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in PMIC or analog technology development programs.
  • Experience with process qualification and yield enhancement.
  • Familiarity with reliability mechanisms and device safe operating areas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical process collaboration with foundries.
  • Support product development, tape-outs, and debugging.
  • Work with foundries to resolve silicon process and product issues.
  • Manage and evaluate foundry deliverables, including PDK documentation, LVS, DRM/DRC, Spice models, and technology files, and drive improvements with foundries.
  • Participate in technology development and device engineering for next-generation PMIC and analog process technologies.
  • Support new product introduction from design concept through production release.
  • Handle tape-outs and debug silicon issues.
  • Assess device usage cases to ensure product reliability, including safe-operating-area evaluation.
  • Manage and mitigate technology risks across multiple projects in parallel.
  • Build internal and external connections with suppliers and within Apple.
