About The Position

An early-stage startup is hiring its first senior AI engineer to own the quality and intelligence of multi-channel marketing agents across SEO, content, social, and search. The role works directly with the founder to shape agent architecture and evaluation systems, establish measurable standards for output quality, and build the AI team as the organization grows. The position is on-site in San Francisco and full-time.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience building production ML or AI systems.
• Recent hands-on experience shipping LLM products or agents.
• Proven experience designing evaluations and learning from outcome signals in areas such as search, ranking, or recommendations.
• Strong TypeScript (Next.js) and Python skills, including the ability to ship end to end and perform data and evaluation work.
• Strong judgment about output quality and the ability to make it measurable and actionable.
• Ownership experience in a startup or small team.

Nice To Haves

• Search or ranking background, especially involving Google or AI answer engines.
• Experience leading an AI lab or top research program.
• Marketing or go-to-market exposure.
• Reinforcement learning or recommender systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Improve agent output and content quality across Reddit, LinkedIn, X, and long-form articles by building evaluation systems that make quality measurable.
• Improve SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO) performance.
• Design feedback loops that enable agents to learn from real-world results and performance signals at scale.
• Own AI infrastructure, agent architecture, model strategy, and the supporting data pipelines.
• Hire and lead the AI team as the organization grows.
