About The Position

Clark is hiring a Founding Product Designer to define how customers experience its AI-powered audit and accounting products. The role focuses on turning complex AI workflows into intuitive, trustworthy software for professionals performing high-trust work. Working closely with Engineering, Product, Audit Engineers, and customers, the designer will understand existing professional workflows and create interfaces, workflows, and systems that make AI feel reliable in high-stakes environments. As one of Clark’s first designers, this person will have significant ownership of the product experience, from early concepts and user research through polished production designs. The designer will help establish Clark’s design language, influence product direction, and shape how customers interact with AI. The role is on-site five days a week in New York City, with startup pace and hours, a flat structure, and high ownership.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience designing modern software products.
A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional product thinking, interaction design, and visual design.
Expertise in Figma and modern product design workflows.
Experience designing complex web applications or enterprise software.
Strong systems thinking and ability to simplify complex user workflows.
Comfort collaborating closely with engineers throughout implementation.
High ownership and ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments.
Excellent communication skills and strong product intuition.
Strong attention to detail and pride in crafting products users love.

Responsibilities

Design intuitive end-to-end product experiences across Clark’s core platform.
Partner with Engineering, Product, Audit Engineers, and customers to understand workflows and translate them into thoughtful product experiences.
Own the design process from discovery and wireframes through high-fidelity mockups and production-ready specifications.
Create intuitive workflows for AI-powered audit and accounting products.
Conduct user research, gather feedback, and iterate based on customer insights.
Build and evolve Clark’s design system, interaction patterns, and visual language.
Design for clarity, trust, accessibility, and usability across complex enterprise workflows.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation of product designs.
Help establish design best practices and raise the quality bar across the organization.
