About The Position

The law firm has not changed in a hundred years. Its unit of production is still an hour of a lawyer's attention, and its only way to grow is to buy more of those hours. Every insight a firm produces is billed once and then lost. So we are building the whole thing again from the infrastructure up. Every system a practice actually runs on: intake, conflicts, research, drafting, review, matter management, billing. Rebuilt so the machine does the work and the lawyer makes the calls. Judgement, advocacy and client relationships stay with lawyers. And every case teaches the next one. Not just operationally, where a workflow gets reused, but on the legal level: the argument that worked, the position that held, the counterparty's playbook, the clause that survived negotiation, the reasoning a court accepted. A traditional firm loses all of it the moment the file closes. Ours captures it, structures it, and has it ready the next time a similar matter walks in. The firm gets better with every case rather than merely busier. We are already operational and established in Switzerland, where the firm runs on this infrastructure today. California is next. The US practice does not exist yet. That is the point, but it is not a bet on an untested idea. It is the second market for a model that already works, built by a team whose legal AI is already in daily use by 8,000 lawyers.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in California and in good standing.
  • Senior enough that clients hire you rather than the letterhead.
  • Bring a book of business: know GCs, partners, founders, and alumni who take your call and can turn those calls into engagements.
  • Have considered starting your own firm but were deterred by the prospect of building a back office.
  • Desire ownership and founder equity in the MSO plus the economics of your own firm over a traditional partnership track.
  • Thorough understanding of legal ethics, including independence of judgment, fee-sharing, confidentiality, and unauthorized practice.
  • Ability to understand MSO structures and their legal limits.
  • Enjoy solving cases more than discussing them; derive energy from the legal craft.
  • Tech-curious and view AI in law as a significant professional development.
  • Comfortable with being an early adopter in a new venture with no established brand, precedent bank, or support staff on day one.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or advising on MSO, ABS, or other alternative legal service structures.
  • Prior ownership of a P&L or a practice group.
  • Litigation experience alongside advisory work.
  • Proficiency in a second language.

Responsibilities

  • Own the law firm, including its license, entity, clients, and professional judgment.
  • Co-found the management services organization (MSO) with Omnilex, holding real equity.
  • Build and run the law firm, making judgment calls, engaging in litigation, and performing face-to-face relationship work.
  • Leverage AI systems and infrastructure for legal practice.
  • Ensure the firm gets better with every case by capturing and structuring insights.
  • Build the MSO that makes the firm faster than any firm has been.
  • Solve cases and engage in legal craft.
  • Adapt to and utilize AI in the legal profession.

Benefits

  • Founder equity in the MSO.
  • Ownership of your own law firm (license, entity, clients, judgment).
  • A co-founder role in the MSO with a seat at the table and upside potential.
  • A system where expertise does not evaporate; matters solved become reusable services.
  • The opportunity to be a pioneer in building an AI-native law firm.
  • The ability to build a firm without building a back office.
