About The Position

We are seeking a Founding Marketing Lead to join our early-stage company, Theodora, which aims to revolutionize how people discover and purchase wine. Launched in November 2025, Theodora offers personalized wine recommendations based on user preferences, budget, and vibe, eliminating the confusion and hesitation often associated with wine selection. This role is foundational, responsible for defining and executing all marketing efforts to drive user growth and establish Theodora as the go-to wine app for casual consumers. The ideal candidate will be a marketing generalist with a "figure it out" mindset, capable of strategizing, experimenting, and executing across various channels to build a magnetic brand from the ground up. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of the company and the wine industry.

Requirements

  • A true generalist with an “I’ll figure it out” mindset.
  • Analytical and data-driven, confident in driving metrics and iterating quickly.
  • 5 years of proven experience in marketing, including branding, community building, social content creation, SEO, paid ads, and sales copywriting.
  • Experience building an audience (social media, community, or business).
  • Up-to-date on the latest strategies for growing apps online.
  • Strong design and copywriting skills, with the creativity and drive to build a magnetic brand from 0 to 1.
  • Confident in shaping strategy while also being hands-on with execution.
  • Experience at a pre-seed/early-stage startup or consumer app where you’ve worn multiple hats.
  • Energized by scrappy, fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
  • Highly creative, with strong instincts for what grabs attention and feels culturally relevant.
  • Has tried Theodora and identifies as the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
  • Does not require wine knowledge, but rather struggles in the wine aisle and wants to improve the experience for others.
  • Based in the US and eligible to work in the US without future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve Theodora's branding, positioning, messaging, storytelling, and customer personas to enhance customer appeal.
  • Test, experiment, and iterate on marketing strategies to identify repeatable growth channels.
  • Own decisions regarding marketing tests, including what to test, what to discontinue, and what to scale, with the goal of achieving sustainable traction.
  • Grow the Theodora user base by exploring and validating marketing channels such as social platforms, influencers/partnerships/UGC, GEO marketing, founder-led social media, events, email marketing, and community-building efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO to translate internal successes into compelling external narratives.
  • Build an early community of loyal users.
