About The Position

Our client is building Revolving Credit as a Service infrastructure that gives businesses scalable access to working capital without requiring pre-funding or bank-sponsorship reserves. The company operates at the intersection of fintech, credit, and crypto and seeks a senior engineering professional to help turn its goals into secure, reliable, and scalable production systems. The Founding Engineer will work hands-on across a TypeScript and JavaScript stack, take ownership of technical direction and product delivery, make foundational architecture decisions, establish engineering best practices, and ship production systems alongside the founders. The role also involves working directly with company leadership on technical roadmaps and product features, and helping shape the engineering team as the business grows.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong, recent experience building and operating production systems with TypeScript and JavaScript.
Meaningful hands-on experience in both fintech and crypto environments.
Proven experience at venture-backed companies from Seed to Series C, with an understanding of how engineering priorities shift during high-growth phases.
Strong backend or full-stack fundamentals, including API design, external integrations, and data modeling.
A track record of owning complex technical products end-to-end, with high autonomy and comfort in low-process, fast-paced environments.
Sound judgment regarding security, reliability, data integrity, and compliance.

Nice To Haves

Experience with credit, lending, payments, banking, or treasury infrastructure.
Background in financial ledgers, reconciliation, or transaction-processing systems.
Familiarity with stablecoins, wallets, custody, on-chain payments, or blockchain infrastructure.
Exposure to risk, underwriting, fraud detection, identity, or compliance systems.
Experience helping build an engineering function, or hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers from an early startup stage.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate core backend and full-stack systems using TypeScript and JavaScript.
Take products from initial concept through architecture and implementation to production deployment.
Build secure integrations with financial, banking, payments, and crypto infrastructure.
Develop and maintain systems handling sensitive financial data, ledgers, and business-critical transactions.
Establish software engineering standards, quality assurance, and best practices across the codebase.
Work with company leadership to translate commercial and customer requirements into technical roadmaps and product features.
Help shape long-term technical architecture and contribute to building the engineering team as the business scales.
