About The Position

The client is building Revolving Credit as a Service infrastructure that gives businesses immediate, scalable access to working capital without requiring pre-funding or bank-sponsorship reserves. Operating across fintech, credit, and crypto, the company seeks a senior engineering professional to help deliver secure, reliable, scalable production systems. The Founding Engineer will take substantial ownership of technical direction and product delivery, working hands-on with a TypeScript and JavaScript stack alongside the founders. The role includes making foundational architecture decisions, establishing engineering practices, and shipping production systems. The engineer will help shape long-term architecture and the engineering team as the business grows. The position is associated with a collaborative workspace in New York City and flexible work arrangements. Requirements

At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong, recent experience building and operating production systems with TypeScript and JavaScript.
Meaningful hands-on experience in both fintech and crypto environments.
Proven experience at venture-backed companies from Seed to Series C and understanding of how engineering priorities shift during high-growth phases.
Strong backend or full-stack engineering fundamentals, including API design, external integrations, and data modeling.
Track record of owning complex technical products end-to-end with high autonomy and comfort in low-process, fast-paced environments.
Sound judgment regarding security, reliability, data integrity, and compliance.

Nice To Haves

Experience with credit, lending, payments, banking, or treasury infrastructure.
Background in financial ledgers, reconciliation, or transaction-processing systems.
Familiarity with stablecoins, wallets, custody, on-chain payments, or blockchain infrastructure.
Exposure to risk, underwriting, fraud detection, identity, or compliance systems.
Experience helping build an engineering function, or hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers from an early startup stage.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate core backend and full-stack systems using TypeScript and JavaScript.
Take products from initial concept through architecture, implementation, and production deployment.
Build secure integrations with financial, banking, payments, and crypto infrastructure.
Develop and maintain systems handling sensitive financial data, ledgers, and business-critical transactions.
Establish software engineering standards, quality assurance, and codebase best practices.
Work directly with company leadership to translate commercial and customer requirements into technical roadmaps and product features.
Help shape long-term technical architecture and contribute to building the engineering team as the business scales.
