Requirements

  • Possess taste and an understanding of what constitutes great content and why much of it fails.
  • Experience growing something from zero (an account, a community, a product) and understanding the drivers of its success.
  • Fluency on social media as a practitioner, understanding platform distribution mechanics and engineering content for them.
  • Experience growing a following from zero, with the ability to point to specific strategies that led to growth.
  • Experience building content systems using AI (beyond basic caption generation).
  • Ability to write compelling arguments, narratives, and ideas that encourage sharing.
  • Strong analytical skills for tracking performance, understanding reasons for success, and reporting findings to inform future strategies.
  • Comfort being a public face of the brand.

Responsibilities

  • Build Pylon's audience from the ground up across X, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
  • Own the channel strategy, grow the following, and identify effective strategies.
  • Create attention-grabbing content, including opinionated takes on the mortgage industry, team and customer showcases, original data and research, and novel formats.
  • Work directly with the CEO to build his and your own presence, translating Pylon's industry knowledge into content for customers, talent, and investors.
  • Run growth experiments end-to-end, from hypothesis to testing, analysis, and sharing learnings.
  • Identify and activate channels where buyers are active, such as communities, newsletters, podcasts, and events.
  • Build relationships with writers, operators, and influencers in the mortgage and fintech infrastructure space.
