About The Position

The Summer Intern will support the daily operations Our House Foundation serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position provides hands-on experience in office administration, record management, and nonprofit operations. The intern will assist with administrative projects, support activities at both the administrative office and OHI’s Greenhouse program in Woodbridge.

Requirements

Current college student.
Interest in nonprofit organizations, human services, business administration, or related fields.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information responsibly.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to perform light physical activities associated with greenhouse work, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous volunteer, internship, or work experience in an office or community setting.
Interest in serving individuals with disabilities and supporting nonprofit programs.

Responsibilities

Assist with filing, organizing, and maintaining records.
Assist with office organization.
Support special projects and administrative initiatives as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records.
Assist participants with daily greenhouse operations and projects.
Support plant care activities, including watering, planting, weeding, and general greenhouse maintenance.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude.
Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and individuals served.
Attend meetings, trainings, and orientation sessions as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
