About The Position

The Foster Care Team Lead mentors and trains new staff and provides support and consultation to Foster Care Specialists at the Grand Rapids site. The role includes attending court, Family Team Meetings, case conferences, educational meetings, and other appropriate meetings with staff. The Team Lead carries a caseload of seven cases and may provide peer supervision, training, and consultation when a supervisor is unavailable. The position does not have management or supervisory responsibility for direct reports.

Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a Human Services field.
• At least two years of prior work experience as a foster care case worker at a child placing agency.
• CWTI foster care training.
• MI-Team Training.
• Ability to travel.
• Knowledge of community resources in multiple counties.
• Knowledge of court expectations in multiple counties.
• Knowledge of DHHS and WMPC policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of CCWM policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of DCWL rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of COA standards.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train new staff.
• Attend meetings with staff.
• Carry a caseload of seven cases.
• Attend court with staff.
• Provide consultation and direction to staff when a supervisor is unavailable.
• Attend supervisory training (CWTI).
• Meet with the supervisory team as requested.
• Provide feedback to the supervisory team regarding new staff performance.
• Lead Peer Supervision meetings.
• Serve as the Educational Point of Contact and attend educational meetings with staff when necessary.

Benefits

• Annual salary range of $49,000 to $56,359.13.
• A $5,000 signing bonus for CWTI-trained and certified candidates, paid in three increments over 18 months.
