About The Position

Caritas Family Solutions is seeking a Foster Care Supervisor to provide supervision to Foster Care Case Managers. This role involves assisting Case Managers with problem-solving and offering supervisory support to ensure their success. The Foster Care Supervisor will collaborate with DCFS to deliver appropriate casework services to individuals and families within the Foster Care Program. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Service (Related fields will be considered.)
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience (For positions that manage staff, the years specified need to be progressive years of management experience. For all positions, the years required can be interchanged with equivalent experience from an advanced degree related to this job and/or with other relevant experience verified by applicant/incumbent).
  • Child Welfare License
  • Must display a willingness to adopt trauma informed interventions, principles, and practices as well as commitment to ongoing development of their capacity for application of trauma informed care. Recognizes how trauma affects everyone involved-including clients, their families, staff, and community; and impacts behaviors. Responds to trauma by actively implementing the guiding principles of trauma informed care into their daily practice. Resists re-traumatization of persons served and staff providing services, by creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for foster care case managers and other assigned staff.
  • Directs those supervised in the assignment of cases and work schedules.
  • Ensures case documentation meets agency, DCFS, and COA requirements.
  • Reviews documentation and approves assessments and service plans completed by the Foster Care Case Manager.
  • Attends court hearings, case reviews, staffing, and meetings, as needed.
  • Leads Foster Care Case Managers in moving cases towards permanency.
  • Provides support to Foster Care Case Manager to help succeed in their position.
  • Collaborates and implements Child and Family Team Meetings.
