This position assists Case Managers with problem solving and provides them with the supervisory support needed to succeed in their position. They will collaborate with DCFS to provide appropriate casework services to individuals and families in the Foster Care Program.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Service (Related fields will be considered.)
  • Minimum 2+years of relevant experience (For positions that manage staff, the years specified need to be progressive years of management experience. For all positions, the years required can be interchanged with equivalent experience from an advanced degree related to this job and/or with other relevant experience verified by applicant/incumbent).
  • Child Welfare License
  • Must display a willingness to adopt trauma informed interventions, principles, and practices as well as commitment to ongoing development of their capacity for application of trauma informed care.
  • Proficient Computer Skills In: Outlook, Word
  • Expert Computer Skills In: Outlook, Word
  • Access to reliable transportation to get to/from work: Required.
  • Access to a reliable automobile: Required.
  • Must provide proof of auto liability insurance (and continue to while working in this position): Required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license: Required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for foster care case managers and other assigned staff
  • Direct those supervised in the assignment of cases and work schedules
  • Ensure case documentation meets agency, DCFS, and COA requirements
  • Review documentation and approves assessments and service plans completed by the Foster Care Case Manager
  • Attend court hearings, case reviews, staffing, and meetings, as needed
  • Lead Foster Care Case Managers in moving cases towards permanency
  • Provide support to Foster Care Case Manager to help succeed in their position
  • Collaborate and implement Child and Family Team Meetings
