Foster Care Clinical Supervisor

About The Position

Provides clinical supervision to clinical case managers to the foster care programs. Overseeing the case management services provided to people served, development and implementation of service plans, and ensuring the quality of the services. Regularly reviews documentation to ensure compliance. Proactively addresses any concerns with respect to clinical case management services. Supervises staff as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, human services, or another closely related field.
  • Three years of related experience with one year experience in clinical supervision.
  • Licensure (LSWA, LSW, LCSW, or LICSW)
  • Current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance if providing transportation to individuals receiving services.
  • An individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served; A graduate of a college or university with a Master’s degree in a human service field and has one year of full-time, pre- or post-graduate degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full-time, pre- or post-graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service field and has two years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and oversees clinical case managers clinical services to ensure quality clinical evaluations, service delivery and therapeutic discharge for people served.
  • Establishes liaisons with consulting staff (physicians, psychologist, etc.) and families to ensure coordinated service delivery to individuals served.
  • Consults with treatment teams and psychiatric staff related to assessment and interpretation as needed.
  • Provides individual and family psychotherapy as needed.
  • May assess and assign intakes; monitor daily census and any corresponding referral sources.
  • Ensures program compliance with all company policy and procedures, state requirements and legal requirements, including billing compliance.
  • If applicable ensures adherence to accreditation standards for disciplines and departments in accordance the accrediting body standards.
  • Participates in programmatic meetings regarding program development, policies, and procedures, compliance plan, strategic plan, etc. as needed.
  • May assist in the development, implementation, and oversight of clinical services.
  • Assembles program statistics for reporting as needed and provides necessary documentation for billing and licensing.
  • Oversee utilization review.
  • Provides on-call support by participating in on-call rotation as scheduled and providing consultation with team members as assistance is needed.
  • Develop and implement crisis intervention emergency procedures, quality improvement, incident management, internal evaluations and participate in emergency coverage system.
  • Assists in the overall management of the program and staff as directed by State or Program Director or in the absence of State or Program Director.
  • May oversee recruitment, matching, contracting and performance evaluations.
  • Ensures development of comprehensive training and clinical supervisor for assigned staff, orientation for people served and their families as needed.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.
  • Directs and supervises assigned staff including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
  • Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions.
  • Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.
