About The Position

Etched, Inc. seeks a Forward Deployment Engineer in San Jose, California. The role leads end-to-end deployment of accelerator-based systems in large-scale datacenter environments, from installation and bring-up through validation and customer acceptance. The engineer diagnoses complex system-level issues spanning hardware, firmware, Linux operating systems, drivers, and high-speed networking stacks, including TCP/IP, RDMA, and 100GbE/400GbE infrastructure. The position performs root-cause analysis of field failures, reproduces issues with internal engineering teams, and drives corrective actions, patches, or design improvements. It also develops and maintains deployment tooling, diagnostics, telemetry, dashboards, and structured runbooks to improve reliability, observability, and repeatability at scale. The engineer coordinates firmware updates, configuration changes, and hotfix rollouts while minimizing downtime, and collaborates with hardware, software, deployment, RMA, and sustaining engineering teams. The position requires up to 30% domestic and international travel.
